Dedicated to the memory of Hermene Louise Schwarz, a pioneer in performing arts education in Dayton, the Allegro Fund provides grants for performing arts organizations to enrich the community through dance, theater and music. Priority will be given to organizations that show collaboration with other groups, projects that utilize residencies or guest artists, and performances that engage the community. Not-for-profit performing arts groups may apply for costs associated with performances as well as residencies. The size and number of grants awarded varies for each grant cycle.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for a grant, your organization must:
- be recognized as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organization, according to the Internal Revenue Code;
- be established for at least two years as a nonprofit organization and have a track record of sustainability;
- benefit citizens in the Greater Dayton region, (Montgomery, Miami, Greene, Darke, Preble and Warren (north) counties);
- demonstrate systemic collaboration; and
- demonstrate a commitment to creating opportunities and access for all individuals in organizational practices.
