Grants are made based on three pillars:
- Empowered families: Working to ensure families have the resources they need to thrive Families with secure employment, stable housing, safe communities, and quality education are best positioned to nurture healthy children.
- Healing behaviors: Working to ensure families can meet challenges and build well-being Families experiencing substance use, mental health challenges, and/or family violence may struggle to provide a nurturing environment for children.
- Access to health care: Working to ensure families receive equitable, high-quality health services Lack of access to providers, as well as language and other cultural barriers, can leave families and expectant mothers without needed health care and increase the risk of ACEs.
