The Accelerator Grant offers financial support for local artists to advance their creative projects and careers with a quick turnaround. It is a competitive program run by The Arts Commission in Toledo, Ohio. The grant can be used for a variety of purposes, including equipment, supplies, professional development, and project support.
Eligible categories of support include materials and supplies related to your creative practice, such as film and photo chemicals, raw materials, paper, canvases, paint, and printmaking supplies. It can also cover the cost of equipment, like camera lenses, instruments, and audio equipment. Project support is also available to pay other artists for their contributions or cover irregular overhead costs such as lift rentals or liability insurance. Professional development expenses, like membership fees, workshops, and business training, are also eligible.
Grant amounts can be up to $1,500. To be eligible for the grant, individual artists and artist collectives must reside or have a creative studio within 30 miles of downtown Toledo. The program is open to artists across all mediums, including emerging artists and hobbyists. This year, applications are also being accepted from university or college-level adjunct teachers. For consideration, the application must be filled out completely and appropriately.
