Details:

Health Equity Impact Grants are designed to strengthen the well-being of Hays County residents by investing in the community’s ecosystem of health, equity, and opportunity. The Health Equity Impact Grants are ways of helping community find its steady pulse again. Through the Pulse Fund’s quick surges of energy and the Social Vitality Fund’s steady, sustaining flow, they invest in the creativity, resilience, and brilliance of local organizations. Together, they can partner to create conditions where every resident in Hays County has the chance to live fully and thrive.

Health Equity Impact Grants seek to address community areas of need that contribute to economic stability, through various social and environmental factors which impact health, wellbeing, and quality of life, known as social determinants of health. There are five general categories:

  • Economic Stability
  • Education
  • Healthcare
  • Social & Community Life
  • Neighborhood & Environment

The initiative consists of two complementary funds:

Pulse Fund

  • Provides short-term support for events and activities that bring immediate benefits to residents. Like a spark of energy, this fund is meant to create momentum, inspire action, and address pressing needs across the social determinants of health.
  • This fund exists to amplify the immediate rhythms of community care—those moments when an infusion of resources can spark meaningful connection or support.
  • Maximum Award: $10,000

Social Vitality Fund

  • Supports year-long projects that take root and grow over time. By focusing on systemic barriers, economic stability, and long-term solutions, this fund strengthens the foundation of community health and resilience.
  • This fund invests in new opportunities and nurtures existing momentum, inspiring additional growth and deeper connections.
  • Maximum Award: $40,000

Eligibility Criteria

Eligible Applicants Must:

  • Be located in and/or serve residents in Hays County.
  • Address how their project will contribute to the overall economic stability of Hays County Residents.
  • Be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in good standing
