- The Litter Crew Grant is a competitive grant that provides funding of up to $10,000 to pay for litter removal crews. The governing organization should prioritize municipal maintained roads that would be unsafe for volunteers, roads that require routine maintenance, as needed, and hot spots. PalmettoPride maintains that litter prevention is best, but pickup is an important part of litter prevention. Routine pickup helps to reduce litter on the roads and to foster community pride.
- The Litter Crew Grant will be for one year, with targeted start date of January 15. Special requests will be taken on an as is basis. Examples of eligible expenses: litter crew wages, heavy duty/OSHA materials for litter removal, litter pickup safety signs and/or In-Kind Pickup Supply Donations from PalmettoPride (gloves, vest, grabbers, bags, etc.)
Eligibility Criteria
All litter control organizations, government departments/organizations, KAB affiliates and community/youth organizations in South Carolina with the ability to supervise and administer payment for litter pickup are eligible to apply for these funds. Priority will be given to groups who have not received a grant within the last two (2) fiscal years and those who partner with other volunteer organizations committed to litter reduction. Applicants must provide a litter pickup plan including a full budget and complete all required grant reports. PalmettoPride reserves the right to reject all proposals and not award any grant funds under this solicitation. Failure to follow the directions outlined in the application guidelines will result in the application not being considered for funding.
