Throughout the program, students identify issues affecting their peers, solicit and review grant applications, and distribute grants to local nonprofits that will have a positive impact on youth in the community. Centre PACT students are responsible for developing grant recommendations for the annual distribution from the Foundation’s Centre PACT Fund, a permanent endowment fund which supports this program, as well as conducting fundraising activities in support of their grants.
All types of youth-serving organizations are encouraged to apply but students are most interested in funding projects or programs that pertain to:
- Mental Health – community mentorship and school community building programs
- Access – extracurriculars/sports/activities and tangible goods such as food, toiletries, hygiene products
- Education – early childhood educational equity/creative learning opportunities, promoting creativity, curiosity and critical thinking for K-12 and improving math and reading skills for K-12.
Funding Information
The maximum grant amount you may request is $5,000. Grant award amounts typically range from $500 to $3,000, and the average amount awarded is $1,400.
Eligibility Criteria
- This opportunity is open to 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations.
- Funding must be used to address issues that impact young people (Pre-K–12) in Centre County, Pennsylvania.
- Funding must be used to support programs/projects that comply with Centre Foundation’s Nondiscrimination Policy.
- Recipient organizations are required to attend Centre PACT’s year-end celebration in June 2025 and, in lieu of a grant report, must provide an update on the funded project at a Centre PACT meeting in Fall 2025.
