Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness Planning 2.0 (MVP 2.0) is a grant for municipalities to revisit their MVP 1.0 climate resilience priorities with a focus on equity and translate those priorities into action.
The following communities are required to apply for MVP 2.0 in the 2026 round. These communities need to apply to the FY26 MVP 2.0 program grant opportunity or have received designation from EEA for prior work that fulfills the MVP 2.0 program requirements to be eligible to apply for future MVP Action Grants:
- Adams, Buckland, Concord, Essex, Falmouth, Gloucester, Gosnold, Grafton, Lanesborough, Lawrence, Littleton, Manchester-by-the-Sea, Marblehead, Marion, Mendon, Millbury, Monterey, Newbury, Newton, Norton, Norwood, Sandwich, Shrewsbury, Southwick, Stow, Wareham, Weymouth, Williamstown, Winthrop
Funding Information
Each awarded community or regional group receives $50,000 for Steps 1-8 and 10 of the process, and $50,000 per community for Step 9 (Implementing the Seed Project). MVP 2.0 is a two-year grant.
Eligibility Criteria
The following entities are eligible to apply for an MVP 2.0 Planning Grant:
- Massachusetts municipalities (and Devens)
- Tribal Governments
- Political subdivisions, such as Regional Planning Agencies, applying on behalf of a municipality/ies to complete the MVP 2.0 process
