The Oklahoma Initiative Fund, a permanent endowed fund of the Communities Foundation of Oklahoma, was created to invest in the vitality of rural communities across the state. Through this fund, CFO is committed to addressing urgent challenges and advancing opportunities that improve quality of life for Oklahomans.

Criteria
Grants will be awarded to 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations serving communities with populations of 50,000 or fewer. Preference will be given to community-based organizations rooted in these towns and regions, with priority consideration for projects focused on mental health and homelessness—two of the most pressing issues facing Oklahoma’s rural communities today.
While nonprofits based anywhere in Oklahoma may apply, strongest consideration will be given to organizations located within and directly serving eligible communities.
