This grantmaking initiative provides eligible nonprofit organizations up to $5,000 of unrestricted funds to support Black, Brown, Immigrant, Refugee, and rural-serving partners.
Organizations must align with the foundation’s mission of advancing health equity through coverage and care and providing healthcare services.
Examples of aligned services include:
- Connecting clients to direct healthcare services through case management services;
- Community health workers or care coordination;
- Supporting clients in filling out health insurance forms and related paperwork through the use of health navigators or enrollment specialists;
- offering or directing clients to mental health services such as therapy or counseling;
- Providing access to healthcare appointments through transportation for clients;
- and providing clients with preventative healthcare screenings.

Up to $5,000.
Grant Period
Short-term, up to six months.
Service Areas
Qualifying organizations must be domiciled and providing services within the REACH Foundation six-county service area: Allen, Johnson, and Wyandotte counties in Kansas, and Cass, Jackson, and Lafayette counties in Missouri.
Eligibility Criteria
- To be eligible for the Rapid Equity Fund, organizations must be a Section 501(c)(3) organization, or a rural governmental entity.
- Organization’s annual operating budget is up to $300,000.
Ineligible Activities
- The REACH Foundation and Wyandotte Health Foundation do not fund healthcare or aid for individuals, health services for Medicare-eligible populations, medical research, programs focused on a single disease, or animal-assisted therapy programs.
- Additionally, REACH and Wyandotte Health Foundation do not fund endowments, fundraising events or operating deficits. To maximize the resources and grants for local nonprofits, both the REACH Healthcare Foundation and Wyandotte Health Foundation direct its grantmaking primarily toward specific focus areas and strategies.
