This grant opportunity supports projects that directly benefit town residents and reflect the priorities, aspirations, and lived experiences of the community.
Through this RFP, the Rocky Hill Community Fund seeks proposals that are responsive, community centered, and feasible within a one-year grant period. Applicants will be asked to articulate how their project addresses a clear local need, engages or benefits residents, and contributes to a stronger, healthier, or more connected community.
Priorities
Priorities Considerations for this Grant Cycle Projects that address the following focus areas will receive priority consideration:
- Mental health and emotional well-being: Projects that promote mental health and emotional well-being across all age groups, including (but not limited to) direct support services and resources, efforts to reduce stigma and raise awareness, and programs that build connection and reduce social isolation. They are open to your interpretation and welcome a broad range of approaches. They encourage applicants to explain how their project meaningfully supports mental health in ways that are meaningful to the community of Rocky Hill.
- Food security and access: Projects that address food insecurity and/or increase access to nutritious, culturally appropriate food—especially for individuals and families facing economic hardship. This may include initiatives that improve food access, strengthen local food systems, or support long-term food stability.
- Support for youth and older adults: Projects that enhance quality of life, social connection, and community engagement for youth and older adults. This includes programs that create meaningful opportunities for participation and skill-building, foster intergenerational connections, and provide services that help people remain active, connected, and engaged in their community.
Funding Information
All grants are one year, project-based awards and may include reasonable administrative or overhead costs. Grant awards will typically range from $500-$10,000, with a total anticipated distribution of approximately $75,000 to $80,000 during this grant cycle. Funded organizations are required to complete a final report at the completion of the project or within 13 months of the award date.
Eligibility Requirements
Organizations eligible to receive grants through Community Funds include:
- Organizations with a 501(c)3 designation as a public charity, private operating foundations, or those fiscally sponsored by an entity with a 501(c)3 designation. Please Note: 509(a)3 organizations are eligible. Private non-operating foundations and 501(c)4 organizations are not eligible.
- Municipalities and other local governmental agencies seeking funding for purposes not typically funded by public revenue sources (including taxpayer contributions).
- Religious organizations seeking support for non-religious purposes that do not include efforts to convert or influence participants’ religious beliefs.
Groups comprised of town residents may prepare an application in partnership with an organization with a 501(c)3 designation that has agreed to serve as a fiscal sponsor for the proposed project.
