The ADPG program provides financial assistance to artists who are facing the threat of displacement, including short-term eviction, loss of shelter, rent increases, or homelessness. The primary goal of this pilot grant program is to prioritize historically oppressed artists and address the most pressing issue in the Bay Area: housing.
Funding Information
For this second round of funding Vital Arts will offer five grants of $2,500 each to residents of Alameda County, and will be prioritizing Black, Indigenous, and other artists of color.
Eligibility Criteria
- The Artist Displacement Grant program requires artists to provide details about their art or cultural practice, their current funding need, and three work samples from the past two years.
- For the Winter 2024 round of Artist Displacement Prevent Grants, artists must reside in Alameda County.
- Priority will be given to those from historically oppressed backgrounds, including but not limited to BIPOC, LGBTQ+, disabled, homeless, and elder communities.
- They accept applications from artists and cultural workers who practice in the following disciplines.
