Program Goals
The objectives of the APPS grant program are to:
- Increase the number of jurisdictions in Colorado that utilize an automated permitting platform that verifies code compliance and issues permits in real time for solar energy and storage systems.
- Reduce permitting, inspection, and cost barriers for jurisdictions associated with residential solar and storage projects in order to accelerate the development of rooftop solar and storage.
- Enable Colorado jurisdictions to take advantage of other local, state, and federal incentives for renewable energy by increasing their ‘solar-readiness’ through automated permit processing.
- Scale up residential solar projects in order to help the State meet its renewable energy goal of one hundred percent renewable energy by 2040.
- Advance the goals of the State’s GHG Pollution Reduction Roadmap.
