Goals and Objectives
The goal of the Harold Rogers PDMP TTA Program is to assist and support state and territory PDMPs and their partners in law enforcement, public health, and health care in their efforts to use PDMP data to detect and prevent the diversion and misuse of pharmaceutically controlled substances such as opioids and other prescription drugs.
- Goal 1: To deliver a range of effective and relevant TTA that empowers and enables states and territories, their partners, and stakeholders in their efforts to collect, analyze, and use PDMP data both within and across states.
- Objective 1: Relevance
- Develop and deliver TTA that directly addresses the needs and challenges of PDMPs.
- Objective 2: Effectiveness
- Measure the effectiveness of TTA to ensure it is achieving the intended outcomes and making a positive impact.
- Objective 3: Engagement
- Create engaging and interactive technical assistance and training experiences that capture the attention and facilitate learning.
- Objective 4: Accessibility
- Ensure all TTA is accessible considering background and learning style. Additionally, all products developed must be Section 508 compliant
- Objective 5: Continuous Improvement
- Regularly evaluate and refine TTA to ensure relevance, effectiveness, and alignment with the evolving needs of state PDMPs and their partners in law enforcement, public health, and health care.
- Objective 1: Relevance
- Goal 2: Provide states and territories with training and technical assistance to support them in their efforts to maintain and enhance the ability of their PDMPs to prevent the diversion and misuse of pharmaceutically controlled substances.
- Objective 1: Build Awareness
- Raise awareness of PDMPs generally and their role in prevention both at an individual and community level through education, targeted outreach, and development and dissemination of resources through a national resource center.
- Objective 2: Promote Enhancement
- Support PDMPs in their efforts to expand the collection, improve the quality, and promote the use of PDMP data through national and regional meetings, targeted peer to peer engagements, and other approaches to uplift the implementation and results of initiatives designed to enhance or expand capabilities and use of PDMPs, for example, through data quality improvements, advanced analytics, data aggregation, and development of public facing dashboards.
- Objective 3: Facilitate Data Sharing
- Continue to build the capacity of PDMPs to exchange data with other PDMP systems utilizing their preferred method of choice and via RxCheck hub.
