The BRIC Fund’s mission is to serve as a perpetual resource addressing systemic racism and its impact on Black communities across the seven-county Metro Denver region.
The BRIC Fund grants provide critical support to Black-led and Black-serving nonprofit organizations that are responding to immediate challenges while fostering long-term sustainability in Colorado’s Black communities.
Funding Information
Grant awards will typically range from $2,500 to $25,000.
Eligibility Criteria
- Your organization must be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization or have a 501(c)(3) fiscal sponsor.
- Your organization must be Black-led and Black-serving. Encompassing people of African and Afro-Caribbean descent, including African immigrants and refugees.
- Your organization must be located in and do work in the seven-county Metro Denver area.
- Your organization’s annual budget cannot exceed $1.5 million.
- Your organization must fit one or more of the identified priorities identified by the community-led advisory committee:
- Emerging community issues/needs – current/ urgent issues identified by the community
- Health – racial trauma, infant/mother mortality, underinsured, uninsured, Medicaid eligible, and/or COVID-related loss of benefits
- Housing – renters and/or people involuntarily displaced or experiencing homelessness, to provide access to housing/homeownership for low-income community members
- Economic Opportunity – business or workforce development or access to living-wage jobs
- Racial Justice – community organizing, advocacy, law, and/or policy reform
- Youth – youth organizing, youth-led programs, and/or culturally responsive programs
