To support this philanthropic commitment locally, LBCF annually funds a nonprofit organization who leads a one-day volunteer project that beautifies the exterior of a building that directly service their members.
This support creates an opportunity for LBCF board members, staff, fundholders, and community partners to work alongside a nonprofit’s board, staff and supporters to literally roll up their sleeves, and make a meaningful and personal impact on the community.

Project Requirements
If your nonprofit or educational institution owns a building that directly serves your members, and you can answer “yes” to the six required criteria below, they’d love to hear from you! Your project will….
- Beautify the exterior of a publicly visible site in Long Beach
- Be completed in one day by resident volunteers
- Have a budget of around $5,000
- Have a significant “before and after” improvement effect
- Have active participation and financial support from the organization’s board, staff and volunteers on the day of the event
- Be a “shovel ready” project that can be carried out on or around November 15, 2025 and maintained by your organization moving forward.
