The Oregon Arts Commission is offering Career Opportunity Grants to support individual Oregon artists seeking meaningful, career-advancing opportunities. These grants are designed to help artists introduce their work to new audiences or develop new artistic skills through experiences such as exhibitions, performances, residencies, workshops, fellowships, or professional development activities.
Grants typically range from $500 to $2,000 depending on the scope of the project. However, additional funding of up to $9,000 may be available for eligible artists, particularly those working in visual arts, visual arts writing, curation, or contemporary craft, through a partnership with The Ford Family Foundation.
Eligible expenses include travel, professional services, shipping or equipment costs, registration fees, documentation, and childcare required to take part in the opportunity. All costs must be directly tied to the career opportunity described in the application.
The activity period for funded projects is from November 1, 2025, through October 31, 2026. Applicants must be at least 18 years old, have lived in Oregon for at least 12 months, and must not be currently enrolled in a degree-granting program. They also must not have received funding from this program in the past three cycles.
To qualify for additional funding from The Ford Family Foundation, artists must have lived in Oregon for at least 36 months and demonstrate at least five years of active professional engagement in their artistic field.
