The mission of D.E.A.F. is to strengthen the potential of deaf or hard-of-hearing youth by working with schools, agencies, and other nonprofit organizations. D.E.A.F. will provide Technology that Supports Literacy (TSL) grants to teachers of the deaf and hard of hearing. A school administrator applies for a grant on behalf of one or more teachers of children who are deaf or hard of hearing. Each teacher to purchase technology that supports literacy development.

The grant will pay for items such as

- Software
- Pertinent accessories and/or peripherals
Eligibility
- The teacher is certified in the State of Ohio and serves students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
