In the current round of available grant funding, MDF invites proposals from organizations whose majority of work is dedicated to marine debris PREVENTION: stopping waste from entering the environment before it becomes marine debris. If your organization is focused on source reduction, reuse and other strategies to prevent the creation of new marine debris, they are interested to hear from you.

In this round of grants, MDF will provide grants of up to $25,000 in general support for qualified organizations.
Eligibility Criteria
- United States-registered 501(c)3 nonprofit public charitable organizations conducting marine debris prevention work in the United States and its territories.
- Organizations whose majority of work is dedicated to marine debris prevention.
- Organizations able to receive up to a $25,000 general support grant by June 15, 2024; spend the entirety of the grant funds by September 30, 2024 and provide a final narrative and financial report by October 31, 2024.
