The Oshkosh Area Community Foundation is committed to creating better opportunities for children. In addition to education grants, the Community Foundation offers funding opportunities to charitable organizations that support youth development. Grants from a variety of youth-related field of interest funds held by the Oshkosh Area Community Foundation give priority to projects or programs that:
- Add to the development of youth through environmental education and/or outdoor learning experiences.
- Establish new services for youth where there is a documented need.
- Strengthen existing youth programs that show continued need, especially those that promote volunteerism and/or leadership skill development.
- Supply adaptive equipment or assistive devices like walkers, wheelchairs, or hearing aids to children with impairments or disabilities.

Criteria
Youth program grant proposals will be assessed using the following criteria:
- Alignment with Funding Priorities: Does the proposal address key areas such as environmental education, new or enhanced youth services, leadership development, or adaptive equipment for children with impairments?
- Impact Potential: Is the program likely to produce measurable, meaningful outcomes benefiting a significant number of youth?
- Program Feasibility: Does the organization present a clear, realistic plan with a well-justified budget?
- Community Need: Does the program effectively identify and aim to fill a documented community need or service gap in youth development?
- Past Performance (if applicable): For returning applicants, were previous grants used effectively, and is there evidence—such as participant feedback—of a positive impact?
