Creative Greensboro provides support for, ensures access too, and drives awareness of Greensboro’s creative community. Through a range of programs, services, and partnerships, they support the development of a vibrant city. Artists who are full-time residents of Greensboro with a practice in painting, sculpture, drawing, glass, photography, digital arts or fiber arts may apply for the Downtown Arts Programs.
Funding Information
- Art on Downtown Kiosks
- A $500 honorarium will be awarded to 10 artists whose artwork is selected for digital display on the 11 electronic kiosks in downtown Greensboro.
- Each artist will have one artwork displayed for up to a 10-week period from February 2026 to January 2027.
- Art in City Hall
- A $3,000 commission will be awarded to one artist who will create a new, original work that reflects their creative perspective on the theme “Greensboro in 2025.” This new, original work will become part of the City’s permanent art collection and displayed periodically in public facilities.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for Downtown Arts applicants must:
- Be a creative individual with a practice in painting, sculpture, drawing, ceramics, glass, photography, digital arts, or fiber arts.
- Must be a full time resident of Greensboro and at least 18 years of age.
- City of Greensboro employees, and their immediate family members are not eligible.
- Artist are eligible to show in Art in Downtown Kiosks every other year. Artists will be selected only once for the Art in City Hall – Special Commission.
