The Foundation awards grants to qualified nonprofit organizations, mostly in the Shreveport and Bossier City region of Louisiana. It has supported a wide range of interests, including but not limited to education, housing, health care, social services, the arts and community development.
The Carolyn W. and Charles T. Beaird Family Foundation is committed to improving the Shreveport and Bossier City region of Louisiana through assisting organizations to add opportunity, freedom of action and choice, self-betterment and a climate for change to the lives of the people they serve.
The Foundation’s priority is to fund organizations in, or projects which take place in, the Shreveport and Bossier City region, but it may also fund requests from other locations, especially those with the potential to be replicated in its geographic scope if proven effective.
Eligibility Criteria
In addition to other factors, eligible organizations:
- Must be a 501c3 tax-exempt organization as determined by the Internal Revenue Service
- Adhere to the Beaird Family Foundation’s nondiscrimination policy
- If your organization received a grant before or during 2025, a follow-up report form must be completed before a LOI is submitted for the Spring 2026 grant cycle.
