The purpose of the mini – grant program is to encourage innovative and strategic solutions to increase the capture of recycling that is processed by CCRRA. Grant funds are made available based upon the performance of CCRRA and the recycling market commodities processed by CCRRA for the prior calendar year.

Recycling Mini-Grant Priorities
Funding priorities for ROUND TWO will include:
- community space permanent recycling
- special event recycling | school and club recycling
- curbside recycling in non-mandated municipalities
- non-traditional recycling such as plastic film, hard back books.
Funding Information
- Mini-grants may range from $1,000 – $20,000.
- All mini-grants require a minimum cash match of 50% of the award.
- Mini-grants are reimbursement grants.
Grant period
Projects must be completed and expenses incurred from January 1, 2026 – December 31, 2027.
Eligible Projects
Eligible project types include, but are not limited to, educational programs, public area collection containers, infrastructure and other enhancements that support source separated sortation of recycling that is delivered to CCRRA for processing.
Eligibility Criteria
- Centre County Municipalities and municipal agencies
- Schools (K-12 and post-secondary) and other educational institutions
- Non-profit organizations and community based organizations
- Businesses
- Refuse haulers for whom CCRRA is subcontracted to collect recycling.
