Based on PY2025 for CDBG Entitlement and allocation for CDBG-DR Beryl/Derecho, HCD estimates the funding availability amounts below:
- CDBG PFI – Estimated at $7,500,000.00
- CDBG-DR- Estimated at $13,695,700.00.
Grant Period
October 1, 2026 through September 30, 2027.
Eligible Projects
- Eligible project activities for CDBG-PFI include projects that serve low-to-moderate income persons or in a low-to-moderate area that includes one of the following:
- Acquisition in conjunction with a proposed facility or improvement project
- Sidewalks and Drainage Improvements
- Public Facilities Improvements in Unincorporated Harris County
- Water and Sewer Improvements
- Roadway/Street Improvements
- Community Park Improvements
- Eligible project activities for CDBG-DR include projects that serve low-to-moderate income persons or in a low-to-moderate area outside the City of Houston that includes one of the following:
- Drainage Improvements
- Public Facility Updates: Generators, Power Connectors for Mobile Units, Outside Services
- Traffic Signal Updates
- Infrastructure Mitigation projects.
Project Locations
CDBG projects must be located within the Harris County service area and/or serve residents of the Harris County area.
Eligibility Criteria
Non-profits must have their 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(4) status from the Internal Revenue Service to be eligible for funding.
