The purpose of this NOFO is to:
- Estimate overall epilepsy incidence among U.S. children 0 – 17 years of age.
- Examine potential disparities in incidence rates of epilepsy stratified by demographic, geographic, social determinants of health, or other characteristics.
- Identify factors that contribute to the risk of developing epilepsy and examine the association between risk factors and incidence.

Population of Focus
The population of focus is U.S. children aged 0 – 17 years. The population studied should be nationally representative, corresponding to statistical estimates of the U.S. child population by sex, race, ethnicity, and geographic distribution as defined by the U.S. Census Bureau.

- Nonprofits having a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education
