The Community Foundation awards grants to support one substantial project in the region. These Major Projects offer a chance to make a difference in the lives of people who call Portage and Waushara Counties home. They bring different parts of the community together to work on a shared goal. This grant cycle is open to programs and projects in Portage and Waushara counties that align with the values and five mission areas:
- Arts & Culture
- Education
- Environment
- Helping People
- Wellness.
Funding Information
Applications submitted must be between $25,000 and $50,000.
Eligible Projects
- Unique community programs or projects for the benefit of Portage or Waushara counties.
- Capital Campaigns.
Eligibility Criteria
- Nonprofit 501c3 agencies that are state and federal tax exempt and in good standing with the IRS
- The Foundation will consider applications from public, charter, parochial schools, or government entities.
- Established community groups wishing to complete a community program or project for the benefit of the general public of Portage or Waushara counties.
Ineligible Projects
- Operating expenses
- Projects in which CFCWI funds will provide more than 50% of total project budget
- Endowment Funds
- Individuals
- Lobbying/political
- Debt retirement
- Requests for emergency funding or other financial shortfalls
- General solicitation requests.
