With an initial commitment of $100,000, the Food Security Fund will make grants to nonprofits in CFOV’s eight-county service area: Tyler, Wetzel, Marshall, Ohio, Brooke, and Hancock counties in W.Va., and Belmont and Jefferson counties in Ohio.
Funding Priorities
- The Food Security Fund supports local food pantries’ efforts to provide fresh, nutritious foods for individuals and families experiencing food insecurity.
- Priority is given to efforts that address gaps in cold storage, distribution, sourcing, or outreach that result in more frequent or reliable access to healthy food options.
- One grant application per organization may be submitted.

Grants will be awarded up to $5,000.
Eligibility Criteria
- Eligibility: Organizations must be identified as tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, or similarly exempt such as faith-based organization, or government entity (i.e. libraries, schools, etc.)
- Serves as a food pantry in the counties of Hancock, Brooke, Ohio, Marshall, Tyler, and Wetzel in W.Va., and Belmont and Jefferson counties in Ohio.
- One application may be submitted in a 12 month period. If the organization has received a grant from a different CFOV grant program for food security in a similar timeline, please do not apply.
