The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) is a federal grant program by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). CDBG is a formula grant allocated to local governments for the purpose of developing viable urban communities by providing decent housing, a suitable living environment, and expanding economic opportunities principally for persons of low and moderate income.
Activities must meet one of the National Objectives:
- Benefitting Low– and Moderate –Income Persons
- Preventing or Eliminating Slums or Blight
- Meeting an Urgent Need
Funding Information
- The City of Chino Hills will receive approximately $390,000 in CDBG Funds.
- A maximum of $58,000 (15%) is available to be used for public services (including labor, supplies, materials, and other costs).
- A public service must be either:
- A new service; or
- A quantifiable increase in the level of a service
- Minimum funding request is $10,000.
Grant Period
Funding will be for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2024, and ending June 30, 2025.

- Job Training
- Recreation Programs
- Education Programs
- Public Safety Services
- Services for Senior Citizens
- Services for Homeless Persons
- Drug Abuse Counseling and Treatment

- Testing
- Homebuyer Down Payment Assistance
Eligibility Criteria
The City invites qualified organizations with eligible programs to apply for 2024-25 CDBG funds.
