The City of Golden will award $350,000 in 2026 to nonprofit organizations and projects that focus on arts, culture, science, and technology.
Eligibility Tiers
- Tier 1
- Mission statement centered on arts and culture
- 501(c)(3) status for at least 5 years
- General operating budget of $300,000 or more
- Located within Golden city limits
- Not a governmental entity
- Tier 2
- Mission statement centered on arts and culture
- 501(c)(3) status for at least 2 years
- General operating budget of $75,000 or more
- Located within Golden city limits, or within 2 miles and serving Golden residents
- Not a governmental entity
- Tier 3
- Organizations may be located outside Golden
- Organization mission does not need to be arts/culture, but the project must be
- Activities occur in Golden and/or serve Golden residents
- Governmental entities may apply
- Provide a project description and specific funding request
- Funding requests are capped at $10,000.

- Art museums and visual arts centers
- Community arts councils; ceramic or photographic studios
- Creative writing, dance, film, music, opera, or theater programs
- Cultural and historical organizations
- Festivals that celebrate arts, music, or film
- Science and technology organizations that bring people together through creative learning and innovation.
Review Criteria
A committee will evaluate applications and make funding recommendations to the City Manager’s Office. Criteria include:
- Documentation supporting Tier 1 or Tier 2 eligibility (if applicable)
- Completeness of all requested information
- Clear description of the benefit and relevance to the Golden community.
