City of Ithaca Retail Mini-Grant Program 2025 (New York)

Dated: May 14, 2025

The Downtown Ithaca Alliance (DIA), in partnership with the City of Ithaca, is proud to launch the Ithaca Retail Mini-Grant Program (IRMGP).

Donor Name: Downtown Ithaca Alliance

State: New York

City: Ithaca

Type of Grant: Grant

Deadline: 06/16/2025

Size of the Grant: $1000 to $10,000

Grant Duration: Grant Duration Not Mentioned

Details:

This program continues its mission to assist small, street-level businesses within the City of Ithaca that are recovering from the ongoing economic effects of COVID-19.

Program Goals

The program is intended to grow sales in businesses located in the City of Ithaca by:

  • activating commercial districts
  • diversifying revenue streams
  • enhancing collaboration between businesses
  • attracting additional foot traffic with programming that attracts patrons to local businesses
  • funding physical improvements that enhance the appearance/accessibility of storefronts. Ground-level, street-facing businesses impacted by the adverse effects of COVID-19 can apply for this funding earmarked for marketing, e-commerce, in-person events, cross-promotions, collaborative campaigns between businesses, improved signage, specific targeted marketing needs, and physical improvements.

Funding Categories

  • There are three categories of grant funding:
    • Marketing
    • Physical Improvements
    • Cross-Promotion Collaboration Campaigns.
  • Initially, each eligible business may apply to either Marketing or Physical Improvements. There are no limits on the number of Cross-Promotion Collaboration Campaigns for which a business can apply. If funding remains after an initial round of grants, a business which receives funds in one of the categories may be eligible to reapply for a second grant in a different category.

Funding Information

The award funding for this program is $2,000 to $10,000 depending on the category.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Any ground-level, independently owned and operated, small business (fewer than 500 employees) with a storefront physical location in the City of Ithaca limits that provides retail goods and services. Retail stores and restaurants are eligible.
  • The business must have been in existence prior to March 3, 2021.
  • The business is eligible to apply for program funding only once in 12 months. If you are a previous grant awardee of IRMG, you are now eligible to apply again.
