The Community Services Grant and Economic Development/Marketing and Sponsorships Grant are awarded to recognized nonprofit organizations that benefit La Quinta residents.
Funding Information
Organizations may request funds to be applied directly to rental fees for City facilities without the $5,000 funding limit.
Grant Period
July 1, 2026 – June 30, 2027.
Eligibility Criteria
- A detailed marketing/media plan is required for these requests and subject to an in-depth review by the La Quinta Marketing Committee.
- Requested funding amounts may be adjusted to a lesser amount at the discretion and approval of the City Council.
- Applications are accepted from recognized nonprofit organizations that directly benefit La Quinta residents or benefit La Quinta in a marketing capacity. Second consideration is given to nonprofit organizations that indirectly affect La Quinta residents.
- Individuals are not eligible for funding through the Community Services Grant.
- Organizations applying for the Community Services Grant for the first time are eligible for a “Starter Grant”. The “Starter Grant” allows first time applicants funding up to $500 if they demonstrate their commitment to provide services to the La Quinta community. If an organization is selected to receive the “Starter Grant” they would then be eligible to apply to the program again the next fiscal year.
- Organizations can request “seed” money for a start-up organization, however they are required to obtain matching funds from other sources in the same fiscal year before the grant funds will be released.
- Organizations that receive CDBG funds from the City of La Quinta during the same fiscal year are not eligible for funding.
- If your organization received Community Services Grant funds in the past, you may be eligible to apply again. Organizations that were funded before June 30, 2024 are now eligible to apply, however organizations that were funded after July 1, 2024 are ineligible for funding and must wait until July 1, 2026 to re-apply.
