Funding Information
- The total amount available for all grant awards is $200,000.
- $10,000 maximum per business with demonstrated costs greater than or equal to the amount requested.
Approved Uses of Funding
Employee payroll costs, replenishment of inventory that was lost, rent, other fixed costs and operating expenses not covered by insurance or other funding. Other costs may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a for-profit business.
- Must have a physical establishment occupying commercial space within the City of Lewiston.
- Must have documentable business income loss due to the shelter-in-place order, including business income comparisons and narrative description of impacts. Must register with Sam.gov and provide Unique Entity Identifier (UEI) with application Must be in good standing with no outstanding tax liens or legal judgements.
Comparative Criteria
The following criteria will be used to prioritize the limited funding available:
- Quantifiable negative effect of the shelter-in-place order on the business.
- Businesses that have attempted to apply for other funding sources and were not approved.
- Businesses that are traditionally open to the public and dependent on walk-in traffic for sales.
- Number of employees.
- Years in business in Lewiston.
Additional consideration will be given to:
- Disadvantaged Business Enterprises, including Women, Minorities, People of Color, Veterans, Disabled, etc.
- Diversity in the types of businesses being funded.
- Business owners who are also Lewiston residents.
