The City of Milpitas has partnered once again with FORWARD to offer an additional $335,000 in microenterprise assistance grants through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program. This funding round is designed to support small businesses within the city.
Eligible microenterprises can receive $5,000 each to help cover business expenses. A total of up to 67 grants will be awarded through this program. Priority will be given to applicants who did not receive funding from the Microenterprise Assistance Program (MEAP) during spring 2025.
To qualify, businesses must operate within the Milpitas city limits and be for-profit enterprises with no more than five employees. Applicants must have an active business license in good standing issued by the City of Milpitas and must possess a Unique Entity Identifier (UEI) from SAM.gov.
In addition, the business owner must have a household income at or below 80% of the Area Median Income (AMI) for Santa Clara County. Applicants are also required to provide a current NAICS code as part of the application process.
