The program provides financial assistance, training, and technical support to empower initiatives that align with the City’s values and address identified community needs.

Priority areas include, but are not limited to: financial literacy and asset-building (budgeting, credit repair, banking access) for low- to moderate-income households; mental and behavioral health services (prevention, counseling, peer support, trauma-informed care) for youth (ages 5–12 and 13–18), young adults (18–24), families, and seniors (60+); academic support and tutoring (homework help, literacy, STEM/STEAM enrichment) for K–12 students; etiquette, life-skills, and mentorship programs for youth and young adults; urban agriculture and nutrition (community gardens, food sovereignty, healthy eating education); leisure, arts, and recreational activities that promote social connection and wellness for both youth and seniors; workforce development and apprenticeships (industry certifications, pre-apprenticeship, career coaching, job placement) for unemployed and under-employed residents; housing stability and homelessness services (prevention, rapid re-housing, supportive services); adult learning and digital inclusion (GED/ESOL, digital skills, device and broadband adoption); and services for special populations, including persons with disabilities, veterans, seniors, caregivers, returning citizens, foster and transition-age youth, and limited-English-proficient residents. The City will also consider programs that advance public safety and violence prevention, youth diversion and restorative practices, civic engagement and leadership development, transportation access to critical services, small business and micro-enterprise support for neighborhood entrepreneurs, environmental resilience and sustainability education, disaster preparedness and recovery, childcare and eldercare supports, and legal/benefits navigation that measurably improves residents’ quality of life. While these focus areas reflect current needs, the City welcomes collaboration with all nonprofits committed to demonstrable, equitable impact for City residents.

Grants are awarded through a competitive application process to projects that demonstrate a clear public benefit, active community involvement, and long-term sustainability. The program focuses on initiatives that strengthen the Riviera Beach community by enhancing neighborhoods, promoting civic engagement, and delivering essential services that contribute to a cleaner, safer, and more connected city.
