The Department of Arts & Culture offers Artist Grants to San Antonio-based professional artists working in the following disciplines:
- Literary Arts
- Media Arts
- Multi-disciplinary Arts
- Performing Arts
- Visual Arts
Funding Information
Artist Grants are available in two tiers: $7,500 and $15,000. ($7,500 is available for individual artists. $15,000 is intended for artists with significant-scale projects, collectives, or ensembles presenting a larger project or production.)
Grant Period
Contracts are for an 18-month period.
Eligibility Criteria
Professional Artist
- Applicant must meet the following to be eligible for this grant:
- Eighteen+ years of age
- Three+ years of relevant work experience or specialized training in an artistic field, such as a degree or certification
- In good standing with Federal, State, City of San Antonio, and the Department of Arts & Culture
San Antonio Address
- Applicant must reside and/or operate an artistic business/studio in San Antonio city limits (within a City Council District).
