These grants support Stamford-based organizations in any discipline and at any stage. Since 2018, the grant has been administered by the Stamford Arts & Culture Commission and is fully funded by the City of Stamford. This grant is formerly known as the Stamford Community Arts Partnership Program (CAPP).
Through project-based funding, the grant supports public engagement with, and access to, various forms of art, the creation of excellent art, learning in the arts at all stages of life, and the integration of the arts into the fabric of community life.
Projects may focus on reaching a particular constituency; however, they may not be exclusionary. This extends to hiring practices and audience engagement.
Funding Information
- The maximum award is $15,000
- Proposals seeking funds greater than this will NOT be considered.
- Projects must demonstrate other sources of funding as well.
- Funds will be dispersed as a one-time payment in January 2025.
Uses of funds
Grant funds may be used for, but are not limited to:
- Staff salaries when staff is working on the funded programming
- Payments to contracted artistic, technical, or administrative professionals
- Production, travel, telephone, shipping, and postage costs
- Space rental; occupancy costs (maintenance, security, insurance, utilities, etc.)
- Printing, advertising, and marketing costs
- Evaluation services and documentation (photo, video, audio, collection of statistical information, etc.)
- Design fees, preparing space for an exhibit, installation or de-installation of art, and community. planning.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicant’s primary address, offices, and/or studios MUST be located within the City of Stamford.
- All projects supported by this grant MUST take place within the City of Stamford.
- 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations
- Religious organization’s
- Projects that are religious in nature are not eligible.
- Projects must be arts and culture related.
- Groups and individuals whose primary address is located in Stamford that partner with a Stamford-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
- Eligible nonprofits that receive other sources of city funding may apply for SACC funding on behalf of other Stamford-based groups or individual artists. They may not charge a service fee for acting as the fiduciary.
