These grant funds, made available through revenue collected from hotel stays within the city limits, are designated to support local events, programs, and initiatives that directly promote tourism and the hotel/convention industry in Tomball. HOT funds are critical in driving economic development by attracting visitors, supporting local arts and culture, and enhancing experiences that bring overnight guests to Tomball.

October 1, 2025 and September 30, 2026.
Eligible Projects
Eligible projects must both promote tourism and align with one of the following state-approved uses:
- Construction or operation of convention or visitor centers
- Registration support for convention delegates
- Advertising and promotional programs to attract tourists
- Promotion of the arts (including music, dance, visual arts, and more)
- Historic restoration, preservation, or promotion of local museums and historic sites
- Administrative costs directly tied to the above-listed categories
- Signage directing tourists to frequently visited attractions.
Eligibility Criteria
Any organization, nonprofit, or entity planning an event or project that aligns with the above criteria and encourages overnight hotel stays in Tomball may apply. All funding is awarded at the discretion of City Council, and approval in a previous year does not guarantee future funding. Only one project may be submitted per application.
