The Foundation welcomes requests of up to $25,000 for nonpartisan civic education and civic participation activities implemented through the Spring and Fall of 2026.
Eligibility Criteria
- Application must be submitted by a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Organizations with a 501(c)(3) designation can serve as a fiscal sponsor for community groups. Nonprofits may serve as a fiscal sponsor for multiple projects.
- Organization has operated for at least one year prior to applying.
- Organizations with previous experience in civic education and civic participation serving communities in Hartford or Greater Hartford Gives’ 29 town region.
- Core support or multi-year grant recipients are eligible to apply but reviewers will balance priorities based on populations served, towns or specific neighborhoods, etc. Reviewers will also look at equity of grant award based on current grant amount in relation to other applicants.
- Please note that if your organization has received a grant through the 2024 Get out The Vote RFP, the Foundation must receive a final report on that grant before considering a new RFP application.
- Applicants should be able to conduct project activities from the grant award date (Spring 2026) through the November 2026 Midterm election.
- Organizations must comply with IRS guidelines for nonprofits engaging in voter education and mobilization.
