To help promote this the District can offer funding for projects including these and more:
- Composting
- Proper disposal of household hazardous waste
- Purchase of permanent bins for recycling
- Purchase of recycled playground, park, or trail equipment and accessories
- Purchase of proper disposal containers (i.e., cigarette butt or pet waste)
- Funding for environmental education and outreach activities
- Community gardens/beautification
These grants are intended to help demonstrate the importance of sustainability, decrease dependence on disposal, help conserve natural resources and generally promote health and welfare of Randolph County residents.

Applicants may apply for a grant of any value up to $3000 in this calendar year.

- All local units of government
- Non-profit organizations, schools, civic organizations, and clubs
- Operating within Randolph County
Guidelines
- The funds must be distributed during the 2026 calendar year.
- Preference will be given to innovative applications promoting reduce, reuse, or recycling programs that can serve as models to other communities and institutions in the county.
- Matching funds or in-kind donations are not mandatory but strongly encouraged.
- Applications will be evaluated on effectiveness, transferability, sustainability, cost effectiveness, impact, use of recycled materials, and cash or in-kind matches.
- All applicants must have good financial, environmental, health and safety records.
- Grant funds may NOT be used for payment of services (i.e., hauling services for recyclables or trash).
- All grant funds will be paid to the organization, not an individual.
- All grant funded activities must take place within Randolph County.
