The Central New York Community Foundation is accepting applications for its Community Grants Program, offering funding to nonprofit organizations in Madison and Onondaga counties, New York. The program supports projects that enhance community impact across several focus areas, including arts and culture, civic affairs, education, health, human services, and the environment.
Grant preferences are given to parks and recreation projects that improve access to hunting and fishing, offer naming opportunities, engage youth, or contribute to conservation efforts for wildlife habitat and forest health. Capital and programmatic grants range from $10,000 to $150,000, with total grants ranging up to $500,000.
Eligible projects include capital initiatives such as large campaigns, repairs, technology upgrades, and equipment purchases. Program grants support new or expanded initiatives addressing pressing community needs. Organizational development funding helps nonprofits strengthen strategic planning, board development, and succession planning.
To apply, organizations must be 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofits, publicly supported entities like schools or municipalities, or groups using a 501(c)(3) fiscal sponsor. Applicants must serve residents of Madison or Onondaga counties and should not have received a community grant from the Foundation in the past 12 months. Additionally, organizations must have submitted grant reports for any previously funded programs. The application deadline is August 29, 2025.
