While the Community Habitat Improvement Projects (CHIPs) is a great opportunity for CVTs to get assistance with high-priority invasive species projects, these funds are not meant to be inclusive of all invasive species-related projects in Oakland County and communities should strive to allocate dedicated funding to invasive species management and habitat improvement within their own jurisdictions. Research project support is also available; for the 2025-26 cycle there will be three research grants up to $5,000 available. These will be awarded to eligible organizations conducting research that advances natural resource management in Oakland County.
Eligibility Criteria
- Projects must be located in Oakland County, Michigan.
- Applications must be submitted by an Oakland County municipality (city, village or township) or OC CISMA member
- Municipal applicants do not have to be a member of Oakland County CISMA.
