Bexar Audubon Society will fund conservation initiatives and community outreach focusing on birds and their habitat. The funds could support projects like: school or community pollinator gardens; bird houses, feeders, or blinds in public areas; events or signage at parks; supplies for birding groups; and educational materials, among others. They encourage project participants to check with your organization (e.g., Texas Master Naturalist, Master Gardeners, PTA, etc.) to see if this project qualifies for volunteer service hours credit.

Criteria
- Projects must involve the area served by Bexar Audubon South Central Texas (Atascosa, Bandera, Bexar, Comal, Gillespie, Guadalupe, Kendall, Kerr, Medina, and Wilson counties).
- Successful projects will have an educational component or focus on public property and an explanation of a community engagement component.
- Grant applicant(s) must serve as project manager and be responsible for grant reporting of specified information.
- Bexar Audubon South Central Texas Mini-grant funding may be combined with other private or public funds.
- A project may be a new one-year project, or part of a larger and/or longer-term project. However, this program will only fund a specific effort that may be completed within a twelve-month period.
- Grant recipients should commit to displaying LIGHTS OUT TEXAS signs in prominent public space during the Spring and Fall migration seasons; signs will be provided.
