Eligibility Criteria
- Eligible projects must contribute to Castle Rock’s quality of life, with special emphasis on programs and activities for youth, seniors, and community-based environmental and sustainability.
- The organization must provide an IRS Affirmation Letter.
- Nonprofit organizations may only receive one Council Community Grant per year. Beginning in 2026, if an organization received the grant in two consecutive years, it must sit out for one year before reapplying.
- New in 2026, youth sports and high school sports/activities are not eligible for the Council Community Grant unless they have an opportunity that is not repetitive, or a project that uniquely contributes back to the community.
- Starting in 2026, preference will be given to organizations located within Castle Rock and to applicants that have not previously been awarded a grant.
- Applications may be submitted on an as-needed basis and will be reviewed quarterly. Applications not approved in the previous quarter may be resubmitted by the applicant for the next quarter and are still subject to approval if the request remains valid upon the next quarterly review.
- A representative from the organization must attend the Town Council meeting when applications are reviewed.
