Funding is provided by the Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation’s (VT DEC) Clean Water Initiative Program (CWIP). WUV seeks proposals for the preliminary design, final design, and implementation of dam removal projects.
All dam removal projects under the Clean Water Initiative Program (CWIP) must meet one of the following objectives:
- Minimize Anthropogenic Nutrient and Organic Pollution
- Protect and Restore Aquatic and Riparian Habitats
- Minimize Flood and Fluvial Erosion Hazards
- Minimize Toxic and Pathogenic Pollution and Chemicals of Emerging Concern
