This Notice of Funding Opportunity serves as public notification that the Early Learning Facilities program at Department of Commerce will be offering a grant opportunity to public school districts and tribal compact schools in Washington.
This competitive grant funding round is to assist public school district and tribal compact school child care providers to remodel, purchase, or construct early learning facilities and classrooms to create more early learning opportunities for children from income-qualified households.
Commerce’s ELF program funding opportunities consists of four parts:
- Competitive grants to eligible organizations
- Competitive grants to public school districts
- Competitive grants to Tribal compact schools
- Direct appropriations from the Legislature
- A grant and loan program operated by Washington Community Reinvestment Association, Enterprise Community Partners, and Craft3.
Eligibility Criteria
RCW 43.31.573 section (3), subsection (a) and (b), identifies organizational categories for ELF funding rounds. This funding round is specifically for the following:
- Public School Districts
- Tribal Compact Schools
