The Educational Opportunities Program aims to encourage organizations to offer meaningful and unique educational experiences for both youth and adults. This includes a wide range of programs such as job training, adult education, English as a Second Language (ESL), credit education, home-buying seminars, and youth enrichment initiatives.
The grant is offered by the Middlesex Savings Charitable Foundation and is open to nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations. Applicants must serve one or more communities in Massachusetts where Middlesex Savings Bank operates. Grant requests can be up to $15,000, and while the duration of the grant is not specified, applications must be submitted by August 1, 2025.
Eligible towns and cities include Acton, Framingham, Newton, Worcester, and many others across the region. Projects must benefit individuals who live or work in the area, with preference given to those directly serving the listed communities. However, proposals with a broader regional impact that still include these towns may also be considered.
Organizations are allowed to apply only once per calendar year. If a proposal is rejected, they may reapply the following year. If a proposal is approved, even partially, the organization must wait until the second calendar year after approval to reapply.
The foundation does not fund political or sectarian activities and will not consider applications from organizations using a fiscal agent.
