The Initiative Foundation Energy & Community Resiliency grants can be used for energy efficiency upgrades, clean energy adoption and resiliency planning.
They fund projects and planning focused on
- Clean Energy
- Advance clean energy adoption (e.g., solar, geothermal, biogas, waste-heat capture, or other integrated energy system approaches)
- Enhance energy security through local energy production, battery storage and/or reduce energy costs
- Feasibility studies, engineering and architectural design work, or environmental and permitting assessments for clean energy
- Community Resiliency
- Disaster preparedness to improve continuity of services and critical infrastructure support
- Prepare facilities that serve the community for future extreme weather and energy challenges
- Development of community resiliency and climate adaptation plans Energy Efficiency
- Improve building and transportation energy efficiency or electrification
- Comprehensive energy audits and energy planning
- Cost savings and affordability for the community, particularly for historically underserved populations.
