The FORGE Fatherhood—Family, Opportunity, Resilience, Grit, Engagement program will provide funding for projects that promote responsible fatherhood under three broad categories:
- Promoting or sustaining marriage.
- Promoting responsible parenting.
- Fostering economic stability.
This funding will be targeted to projects designed for adult fathers (age 18 and older). Eligible fathers (or father figures) must have children age 24 or younger and may be:
- Married or unmarried biological fathers.
- Expectant fathers.
- Adoptive fathers.
- Stepfathers.
- Father figures, such as grandfathers or foster fathers.
The activities funded under this NOFO are inspired by these qualities of fatherhood: Family, Opportunity, Resilience, Grit, Engagement. Projects will provide a broad array of services to adult fathers. In addition to essential services to strengthen positive father-child engagement, ACF seeks projects that provide:
- Robust services to promote or sustain healthy marriage and relationships.
- Robust services to improve employment and economic stability opportunities. Economic stability activities include job-driven employment and job skills development.
