This educational grant program has been developed by the Foster Youth Education Fund to support the ongoing educational efforts of youth who have been in foster care in Sacramento, El Dorado, Placer, and Yolo counties OR who were in foster care and are attending a post-secondary educational institution in these four counties. Funds are raised during our annual fashion show whose models are current and former foster youth, as well as donations from business and the local community.
Eligibility Criteria
- Current or former foster youth entering or attending a two or four-year accredited college/university or technical/trade school beginning the Fall quarter or semester of 2025-26. High school seniors may apply with proof of college enrollment.
- NEW applicants must submit with this application:
- High School or most recent College Transcript
- One Letter of Recommendation from a Non-Relative
- One Page Essay—Describe your education goals and how you plan to use the FYEF funds. Include a paragraph about any challenges that have impacted your goals.
- Proof Of Enrollment for the Fall Quarter or Semester.
