The Foundation for the Tri-State Community engages donors to build community wealth for a stronger region. Since the Foundation’s mission is broad, it enjoys supporting a variety of projects the improve the quality of life in the Tri-State. Special priority shall be placed on projects that:
- Enhance a non-profit’s capacity. Examples include improving internal management, reducing operating costs, etc.
- Test or demonstrate new approaches and techniques to solve important community problems.
Funding Information
Grants shall be made in amounts up to $10,000.
Eligibility Criteria
Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) charities and other organizations that meet our charitable grant guidelines. Project proposals must serve residents of the tri-state area, which includes Boyd and Greenup Counties in Kentucky, Cabell and Wayne Counties in West Virginia, and Lawrence County, Ohio.
Ineligibility
The Foundation’s Board of Trustees may consider or exclude expenses on a case-by-case basis. However, the following will generally not be considered for funding:
- General operating costs
- Scholarships
- Payments to individuals
- Retroactive funding
- Salary and benefits
- Capital building projects
- Operational deficits
- Sectarian activities of religious organizations
- Events
- Individual schools.
