Grant Types
The difference between capacity, general operating, and programmatic grants
- Capacity grants: Capacity grants are used to develop competencies, strategies, systems, and structures to improve your organizational effectiveness.
- General operating grants: General Operating Grants are used to support the general (administrative or core) expenses of operating an organization.
- Programmatic grants: Program grants are given to support activities aligned with The Turnout’s Mission Areas and related to the mission of the organization receiving funding. Program grants are restricted grants and must be used solely for the proposed program. Program grants must be used to cover costs directly related to running a program such as educational outreach, program materials, and/or personnel (only as it relates to supporting a particular program or project).
Eligibility Criteria
The Turnout is open to 501(c)(3) nonprofit or public charities, schools, churches, and government agencies serving residents of Knox and Warren Counties.
